After a marathon day in which he played in the singles final at the Tennis Masters Series Stuttgart and then won the doubles title, Max Mirnyi still had time to chat to fans on Masters-Series.com. One fan asked him how his success was received in Belarus, to which Mirnyi replied: "I know that they have awarded me with some kind of sports award in the past week, like a statue of sports. I guess it's a result of beating several Grand Slam champions. They chose to do that at the Sports Ministry, but other than that I'm sure there are a lot of fans who are delighted back home. Every night I get phone calls from my friends and relatives from Minsk, congratulating me and telling me that there is a big boom back home because this is such a big event."
